Armed with a patchy memory and an idiot implant, built to control the active self-replicating nanite swarm inside his body, he works to discover how he ended up alone and how he can escape (without burning up, explosively decompressing… or turning into bloody pink goo).

I learned of this novel from a colleague...we work with the author...and figured that it would be worth checking out. I'm very glad I did!"CNE Omega: Reboot" is highly creative, action packed, well-written, and a fun read! Even though this is science fiction, it's pretty believeable. The "science-y" stuff doesn't bog down the plot, and the main characters are likeable. I'm looking forward to the sequel!

Like all great literary adventures, it creates a feeling of longing in the reader. As a computer geek who signed up after 9/11, I can relate to the protagonist, and I look forward to the continuing development of this story.
Part of what makes the book enjoyable is its "ARMY-ish-ness." The characters' lingo and worldview by themselves could be disorienting to a non-military reader, but when given adequate context (as I think the author done), they make the setting more exotic, rich, and appealing.
This story starts in exactly the right place, winding backward as we discover the protagonist's story by watching him recover his memories -- and he's got a helluva story to tell. This writer shows us "near-term" military and medical technology with the detailed eye and compelling verisimilitude of a deadly-effective warrior geek.
Based on this audacious debut, Muehleisen has likely kicked off a terrific series. The conflicts and alliances of his post-New World Order operators show endless plot possibilities. I'm looking forward to the next installment from this writer.
Strap in, check your rig. Brace for impact...
Obvious intro book to a longer series. Excellent chapter transitions for interesting character and plot development. Believable characters with human motivations and shortcomings. Believable villain! Obvious knowledge of special operator military craft, if a bit heavy on acronyms for some laypersons.
